..and last minute blip. The book is 'She Left Me the Gun, My Mother's Life Before Me' by Emma Brockes. Emma's mother was born in South Africa and emigrated to England when she was 28 giving only hints about her life in South Africa. After her death Emma travels to South Africa to try and uncover her mother's past.
