Playing dead

This evening, Dewi brought home, not a bird or a mouse, but a small possum. He eats the mice after playing with them. On this occasion, he got bored with the “dead” possum, lay down to watch it for a bit then walked away, disinterested. A minute or so later when I went to clean up the mess, the possum was gone. Possum 1: Dewi 0. Even I thought the possum was dead. That’s what possums do.
