Roadside repairs

Sorry about the fence and the fuzziness, but I zoomed my lens across the valley to see what was going on. Yes, it's a blacksmith shoeing a horse by the roadside. This horse is definitely bombproof. It had no restraint, not even a halter, and it stood rock-steady and still even when cars passed. Once the shoe was done it ambled off up the road at its own pace with the owner following some distance behind.

Also, the only photo I took today. An at-home day doing chores and reading. It's still sunny, but you can feel a growing autumnal chill in the air, so I soon retreated indoors.
