A Lazy Blip…

… On the way to the Post Office to post birthday cards, £3.75 in stamps if you’re interested. For just 3 cards!
I said to the clerk, ‘do you think these costs’ll finish Christmas cards?’.
He said, ‘to be honest they’re in so much debt anyway the Christmas card market won’t matter’.
I felt suddenly immensely sad… For all of the Christmas Post memories.. Many friends worked as students on the post… Being thrilled if our house was on their round…Giving them hot drinks in the snow… And hearing about the mayhem in the sorting office… Christmas deliveries… A card arriving from a first love… Opening it in secret, in the cold of an unheated bedroom, away from the warmth of the coal fire in the living room… Parents (well, Mum!) being thrilled to receive letters from family abroad… Cards strung up with delight and love on little tiny pegs…
Awww.

Here you have a quick photo but one which created much nostalgia for some reason.

It snowed here today.

Must buy some Christmas cards, before they become extinct.
