Pitcher plant

When we were at the garden centre last week we bought this, reduced to £3 we thought it was worth seeing what happens with it. A few weeks ago it would have been useful to catch the fruit flies that were in the compost caddy but they've all vanished.
The day started cold and bright but got a bit warmer, clouded over and then rained, heavily at times, while still being only 5-6C. Fortunately it was dry when we started the evening run so we were warmed up when the rain came on again.
Earlier I'd done some housework, finished sewing my trousers and gone to help at the Centre's Kids' Club to cover illness, we need some more volunteers who live a bit nearer.
