The River Kent at Bowston.  This was where Bowston Weir was situated before it was removed 18 months ago; I still miss the sound of the water as it tumbled over the old weir, but am continually impressed with the way the river has expanded and naturalised the river bed, forming currents and shingle beds in its own particular way and ignoring the designs of the engineers who thought they could predict and control the flow of our river.
