Happy Heron

Walked again along the sea wall from South Kessock and there were two herons in the Merkinch lagoons at the far (canal) end. One sat on the bank and didn't budge. Both were at quite a distance. The other paddled through the water in that deliberate way they have and very gradually moved closer. Every now and then lunging his head under water and gobbling down his fish. This shot was taken when he was fairly close - he has his fish even if only a tiddler. I did get a sequence of his capture on Flickr but they seem to have got it backwards (go left not right). Have to say I was happier with the old-fashioned Flickr than with the new updated version.
