Three Shires Stone.
A lovely day, sun all the day, but because of the height it was chilly. No wind. My journey took me to Eskdale, over Hardknott and Wrynose Passes and then into the Langdales. For those who don't know those two passes, they are narrow and steep. The road surface is also challenging. This is the Three Shires Stone positioned where Cumberland, Westmorland and Lancashire meet. This is a modern version as the original erected by the National Trust and local people.
Earlier I stopped at Dalegarth station the Eskdale terminus for the 'miniature' Ravenglass Railway. Very quiet now, everything closed, until Christmas. The Langdales were beautiful. Some of my photos could appear on future days.
