New toy

I was excited to be gifted this new crafting toy and accessories last week. 'Big Shot' Sizzix machine. With friends visiting I didn't get a chance to experiment, and the week so far has also been very busy. But today, I was so cold in the summer house I was driven indoors at lunchtime. I decided to stay indoors for the afternoon.

After I'd had my lunch, I had a quick delve into the bag of bits. I had already found a user manual online, and watched a tiktok video (Mollie helped me do that!) So was desperate to try it....and in minutes I had beautifully embossed these cards. The ease of it was pleasing, and I'm so excited with the results. When mice are all made, and the album is complete, I'm going to focus on cards again. I already have lots of ideas. I'm doing a card making evening with the scouts in a couple of weeks, so have some ideas about how I can incorporate the embossing or die cut shape making.

Anyway, it was literally 5 minutes at lunch time and then I was back to work. Had a lot of interruptions and with only my laptop on my lap I couldn't get the pensions processed. So tomorrow I'm going to have to go back to the summer house where my other screens are. Will rethink at the weekend. We may be able to get our wood burner working if we can seal the chimney so that it doesn't fill the space we are in with smoke like last time. But we have a carbon monoxide alarm now, so at least will know if it's dangerous.

Finished at 5.30 and straight to yoga. There was a lot of snoring by the end. Me included. I'm heading to bed early again tonight. Cold is tiring!
