Ilam Hall
It's been a long time since my walking pal has been able to come out for a walk. A persistent knee injury had limited his walking and it is only now, some months later that he has felt able. It was a glorious day for a walk and we headed up to Ilam in the Peak District which culminated in a walk through Dovedale and the famous Stepping Stones.
Some of the stones have been recently dislodged by flood waters during Storm Babet and one of the extras shows that one has been completely tipped on its side and another is loose and at an angle. The National Trust are advising against using the stones until they can be repaired, which could take some months.
The main image is looking towards Ilam Hall, highlighting one of the remaining oak trees, holding tenaciously onto its leaves despite it almost being December.
In the end we did just over 10 miles.
