The Forge of Vulcan

In a trip today to the National Gallery of Scotland, spotted this detail in Zucchi's oil painting of the Forge of Vulcan. These Cyclopes seemed to have no concept of industrial injury, but where were the Health & Safety inspectors? Possibly best if seen fully blown up.
