Tin Baths

This brought back some memories today. I’m old enough to remember the days before we had a bathroom. The long tin bath would be placed in front of the open fire and filled with buckets and saucepans from the Burco boiler. We went in order of cleanliness. There was five of us and the grubby kids, usually me, went last. Then the water was emptied and replaced with clean for mum and dad’s bath. We were sent to the living room to watch TV, but we often heard a lot of giggling coming from the dining room.
