"goodbye my friend"

Today we said a very sad farewell to this guy - Martin Carmichael, my desk buddy!

Martin was one of the first people in the bureau to say hello to me on my first day and since then we have shared so many giggles! :) But in amongst the giggles, jokes and teasing was the seriousness of the job.

I have learnt so much about fingerprints from Martin that I can't begin to even write it all down - he has been a fountain of knowledge! But I guess that's what 13 years in the job does to you! Passing on his tricks and tips, answering all my annoying questions and just simply being the guide that I needed to negotiate my way around my first year in the job.

At Christmas we said goodbye to 2 other bureau staff and that was bad enough but saying bye to Martin was never going to be easy...so drinks, food, unexpected karaoke in the most random bar in Dundee, and more drinks were required in order to help ease the pain :(

I wish him all the luck in the world as he starts a new adventure and chapter in his life!

Missing you already Martin!
