St Martin's Lane

I have been in London again today (and will be tomorrow) but took this photo yesterday when I was walking up to the Garrick Club from Trafalgar Square. It was good to see the Christmas lights strung across the street. The theatre on the left is advertising its current production, Backstairs Billy, which is about the trusted relationship between the late Queen Mother and her favourite servant, William Tallon. Further up the road, the Noel Coward theatre is showing a play about John Gielgud directing Richard Burton in Hamlet - a clash of theatre royalty. I think the latter play is the one I'd prefer to see - it's transferred into the West End from the National Theatre  - so I will check out how long it is running for.
