The Queen's Ball
We're going to this event with a group of 30 people from the British Council. It seemed like a good idea at the time and then I was told about the dress code and now the venue has changed from The Marriot
Hotel, centrally located and just 15 mins by taxi from the flat, to this venue about 45 mins away. Anyway, I'm sure it will be a grand night out and the venue's apparently pretty spectacular. It was the residence of the Crown Prince of Egypt, Prince Mohamed Aly. The huge gardens are meant to be the most beautiful in Egypt and home to trees from all around the world, as the Prince was a tree lover. It's one of the top places for weddings in Egypt and can take up to 3,000. For the eagle eyed out there, you'll see that it goes on until 3.30am! Given that Bb arrives that day, after a 4am rise for flights, I think we may have to organise for a carriage to pick us up a tad earlier.
Now all this Cinderella needs is to be able to zip up the dress I brought with me!
