Look who came to visit!

Early this morning Gulliver decided to take a trip through the neighborhood, and this little fawn is what Bob found when he went to retrieve our wandering dog. This is not the first time a doe has given birth in this neighbor's backyard. Maybe she thinks her baby is safer inside the fence? I don't know, and I'm not sure how old the baby is. It still has all those spots, but it doesn't have wobbly legs, so it must be at least 24 hours old. When daylight came, the doe leapt over the fence and was gone, but the baby had to stay where she put it. The momma will return, probably after dark, and, if the gate is left open for a few hours, she will be able to lead her baby out.
