In memory of the Maju

The clipper Maju foundered off Barvas during a storm on 21 October 1874, with the loss of all hands. She was en-route to Rangoon in Birma, but was driven ashore on Lewis instead. This gravestone, with the inscription virtually illegible, is to the memory of 2nd Hand Scantlebury, apparently from Cornwall.
