Oldie Part 2

I seem to have quite a few "series" running at the moment. A good mate of ours D, has a ketch build to the design of Joshua Slocum's "Spray". Slocum was the first to sail single-handed around the world in an incredible year-long voyage, arriving home in 1898. Well worth checking out his story. He's Oldie Number One, in this tale.

D is Oldie Number Two, although he'd throw me overboard for suggesting it.

This guy is M, Oldie Number Three. Last time D, D, The Lovely Ange and I took the boat out (it's in Fiji) the injector pump coupling broke. It took us a while to figure out exactly what was wrong but managed to patch her up. The engine is from a Fordson Super Major tractor. M has a tractor repair shop out at Rangiora and is, by pure coincidence, a yatchie. Who happened to know all about Captain Slocum and Spray.

Hence, getting a new drive unit and a photocopy of the 1950's manual on how to time the diesel was completed with ease and enjoyment. Many a tale was swapped.

Can't beat a good Oldie.
