Sunbather

She perched on a high snag, drying out and heating up her wings. We spotted this handsome Turkey Vulture as we began our walk this morning. I  took a few shots with my phone but she was too far up to get the photo that I wanted. So we walked back home for my camera. I took several shots of her from behind and since she was facing into the low sun, I needed to do quite a bit of post production on the shadows to bring out the details and color in her feathers. The next two shots were taken with full sun on her front. see *extras... Fletcher and I returned about 40 minutes later and she was still enjoying the sun's warmth.
