Ridleys

Had a wonderful day in Bridgnorth today. Mrs I wanted to try out the new (extended) Aldi whilst I opted for a dog walk alongside the River Severn and back into the town for a mooch.

It was fantastic. A perfect day, very cold after -5 degrees of frost overnight, but it was dazzlingly bright and sunny. Blue skies and little breeze.

I stopped to speak to several people, also dog walking, and bumped into an elderly lady who lives in the town and dog-sits for her daughter. We met her when we did this walk earlier in the year. A nice coincidence. Everyone was very happy and very friendly.

The blip (straight out of camera, no messing) is a view from the Bridgnorth Bridge looking from Low Town and the discreet (!!) Ridley's Seed signage, with Hightown visible higher up. The highly popular and much needed Cliff Railway (funicular) is just visible at the top of the image. Sadly still closed after nearly a year, due to urgent and very expensive repairs. There is some controversy over the costs, and who pays. Not me fortunately. The bill is around £750,000.

How great would it be if, globally, everyone could be happy and friendly!

Dog walked, shopping done, we journeyed home very carefully, our country roads are not the best and with temperatures dropping sharply (-2 degrees in the sunshine)  I didn't want any icy mishaps on the way back.

Safely ensconced, tea made, fire lit and awaiting the arrival of our daughter Ell, her housemate D, and Vixen the Doberman.

Looking forward to a nice weekend of gardening and dog walking and food eating and chat.

I hope you all have a great weekend!
