A brief wander outside today, when I realised that I hadn't taken any photographs at all!
This is a pile of eider ducklings... the mothers sit on the nest for the whole incubation period, not eating, so when the eggs hatch the ducklings join a crèche guarded by a few birds, while Mum goes off to feed.
