Whiskers

It’s a while since I have photographed this guy - he has some wonderful tales to tell. He struggles with his artificial leg in this weather - being so cold on his stump - so he puts a heat pad in the socket. He says he has lived on the street for 24 years - in a tent - it’s means wearing the right layers. He wasn’t a fan of Gortex - tends to wear army surplus - his great coat was ex Cold War East German border guard issue. He told me today that his hand was almost severed by a blast in the Falklands (when he lost his leg) - but saved by his wristwatch, which was later found, and is now in a museum. He showed me the scars - he lost two fingers, but otherwise it works ok.
