Caton

This old tree is by the Ship Inn in Caton.

As you can see, something akin to a hangman's gibbet is used to support the decrepit old tree, which is said to be over five hundred years old. Heaven knows, the withered stump couldn't support the branch on its own.

And yet still the branch has that youthful explosion of green leaves at its end.
