2 C: Mad Dogs & Englishwomen

Unusual weather. Frost/bitterly cold, and a sea-mist all day. Low visibility ruled.

Collected 'A' & Co. from airbnb. Drove to 'H' & 'M' to drop off Italian crosswords, kindly purchased by 'A' on her last trip to Naples, for 'M' to send her 90+ mum in USA. Had coffee and M's delicious vegan lemon cake.

Drove to nearby Sandbanks and walked on a fairly empty beach promenade. Freezing. Only a few dog walkers, and the Mad Englishwomen you can just about make out in my blip. Mad or brave to go into the sea in scanty bathing costumes??? (I had 3 warm sweaters on, 2 thick scarves, warm gloves and hat).

They didn't remain long, then ran back to a (new?) very posh Sauna - right on the edge of the sand, rentable in advance. Inspired by the Scandis!!

We returned home. Had refreshments. Little 'D' enjoyed watching the 'Aldi Xmas ad', 'Simons Car', 'The Wrong Pair of Trousers' but was less enamoured by the wonderful 'John Lewis Xmas ad' - which I love and have seen ca. 20 times+ - I am, of course, biased - the main protagonists are a young boy from Bournemouth and a Venus Flytrap (not mine, sadly).

Before dinner we went down to the Winter Tree Wonderland, had a walk on the Pier and did The Snowman ride. All great fun. Then Mr B did his wonders in the kitchen - I take credit for the curried parsnip soup.

Not as cold (midnight) now, but wind howling, and raining. Switching off xxx
