Airstream Doggy

We went to visit our friends Skip and Judy in Sebastopol. Skip and OilMan have been friends since high school and Judy is recovering from a series of medical disasters culminating in heart surgery and some complications due to that. For somebody who has been to hell and back, she looked as smiling and lovely as if nothing had happened. It was a joy to see her lookig so well.

The Sonoma County Humane Society is on Highway 12 between Santa Rosa and Sebastopol. It is a clean, modern, and well run facility at the end of a long driveway. The "sign" on the street is a huge Patrick Amiot sculpture of a dog made from, among other things, an airstream trailer. You might also recognize the black washtub nose. It is a suitable landmark for a hidden facility.

Plans are moving ahead for the fireplace remodel. It is amazing how much bigger the space seems without the raised hearth and with the couch moved just a foot or so further back. Tomorrow Drue, our designer, will come and look at the room with an eye to picking out some stone for the fireplace facing. He did such great job with our kitchen that we can't wait to see him again.
