Dalhousie Castle
Suffice to say that Mr Flum has several cousins, from both sides of the family and today we, with his brother and s-i-l, (absent was the other s-i-l, who had mistaken the date) were treated to afternoon tea by a cousin who lives on the Wirral, who was en route home from visiting another cousin up north.
Having experienced such a repast in July we were pleased at the selection, especially one entire equivalent in gluten-free. We almost forgot that the desserts were not served until the savoury plates were finished with, so requested carry-out boxes to clear the way. Two for each couple were brought all used - too full were we to do justice to delicious-looking cakes, most of them were carefully packed into the boxes. As the weather has been so bad around Cumbria we insisted that our hosts took as much as they wished, in case they were delayed and needed a bite before arriving home.
The light was fading fast as we departed and guided them through the wilds of Midlothian as far as their road south. Thank you, D & G, for a lovely afternoon, our treat next time.
