Central Market fruit from above

Today was a frustrating day in the city for us, doing various odds and ends with little success. Trying to get a new shower nozzle and being told that the old size thread has been discontinued.

Then to our regular photo store to get my 24-105 Canon lens repaired, as the auto focus motor has broken down. I was told to go away as Canon Australia will not touch it for repair as I bought the lens while overseas.

Then a quick trip into the Central Market to do a blip shot I had been planning. That was to do my photo while coming down on the escalator, so I can get a higher angle on the various stalls. Hope you find this different angle interesting. The shop staff seemed a bit bemused at the camera flashes coming from above.

The market is now 140 years of age, and is an icon of our city and a true cultural institution. The parking on the 2 levels above the market is also the cheapest parking prices in town!

For those of you who might be visiting Adelaide in the future, here are the Market Trading Hours:
Tuesday: 7am - 5.30pm
(Wednesday: 9am - 5.30pm* Optional trading day, not all stalls open.)
Thursday: 9am - 5.30pm
Friday: 7am - 9pm
Saturday: 7am - 3pm

Closer fruit.
