Freight Train, Freight Train
My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,
This song popped into my head today and it made me happy and sad. It's quite a cheery tune (if you don't listen to the lyrics). But it was also one of dad's favourites, so there's that.
It's okay. Life IS happy and sad. I am comfortable with this.
My day was quite distracting though. It was really very busy as we gear up for implementation on Thursday/Friday. And one of my team mates gave me the news that a LOT of members of our team are about to leave in the new year.
It's due to the new government cutting back. I'm used to this sort of thing. In six months time I expect most of them will be back again.
But where does this leave me, you may ask? I suspect my contract will not be extended past February and I'll have to leave Kāinga Ora again and I'll be sad again.
But who knows what awaits next? Maybe another Kiwiwank, maybe something a lot better.
Freight train, freight train... there isn't really time to think.
S.
