Mum
As night follows day, mum follows dad. 33 years together, 11 hours apart, there you go dad, more numbers to consider.
Anyway, here's a pic of what we now know to be Hogwarts, part of Alnwick Castle.
I bought this for my mum for a Christmas present one year to remind her of her time at the teacher training college based and the castle. The place where she met Edith, who later in life she would then end up teaching at a primary school with all her working life.
Edith's son Tim and I both played in a covers band for many years until he relocated to Scotland. Mum and Edith stayed in the same place most of their lives, their generation did. They did in the main the same job, and when it is a vocation like teaching, at the same place.
Mum loved being a teacher and was a good one for her primary school kids. She was just 5ft, so she was almost on their level. She played the piano, simply, in assemblies and often ran the nativity plays too.
One day she threatened to send one naughty child to see Mr Dance, the deputy head. A towering man with a big beard.
She said "If you don't behave I will send you to see Mr Dance, and you know who he is don't you?"
"Yes, he's one of the Mr Men" came the reply.
