Luca at the drums

Since babyhood, Luca has responded to music in a very special way. I love watching him when he decides he wants to try out Eben's drum kit. His intense absorption only lasts a few minutes, usually, but it's just lovely to see.  The kit isn't set up for his height, but that doesn't bother him; his movements and his touch are fluid and relaxed. Long may this last.
So it was one chance only, for this image; just time to grab the camera and hope for the best. A second or two after I clicked the shutter, he'd climbed off the drum stool and moved on.
