Squeaking pigeon

This pigeon - I'm going to call her/him "Squeaker" - does not fly away when I go out into the garden. If I go really close, s/he takes a few steps away from me.  But the strange thing is that s/he makes squeaking noises.  I looked on the internet for information about pigeon noises, and found that baby pigeons squeak when they are hungry, until they are about 8 weeks old.  So maybe this is a youngster.  I do get the impression that s/he is asking me for food, so I've been putting some seed on the ground for her/him.
