Well, Doggone it!
Who knew there was such a fun antique and collectibles shop only a few minutes away from home? And open on Sunday? Oh My Dog!
It was a day of Best Laid Plans foiled...as they often are when planned by my friend N, of Canceled-Christmas-Dinner fame. She is jinxed...First, our friend D canceled at the last minute...and then the Christmas Market we were planning to attend was not really a Christmas Market with a plethora of vendors - N had not read the fine print on the flyer - so we passed on that...and settled for a local flea market. Not buying something there turned out to be easy-peasy.
BUT..then on the way home, there it was! According to N, a fabulous upscale thrift shop she likes to frequent, but that she had no idea it was open on Sundays! Well....What a find! It was a wonderful treasure trove of antiques and tempting "fun" things that anyone would love to take home..well, maybe not ANYone...but perhaps someone like me...I think that funky handsome dog would look absolutely fabulous in my craft room - even better in my entry hall if only it was more spacious! Whatever, it would make me laugh every day...and laughing is good...but, Tryfan46, I restrained myself and, quel surpris, came home from my day out empty-handed! I did not spend a cent!
However, I may return to that shop next week to check out a pair of tall funky pink candle sticks (with chandelier glass dangly things) I spied through the open door of a storage room. The owner of the shop said that she has them set aside for herself, but might consider selling them....
Hmmm..
PS...I actually forgot my iPhone at home.. so had no camera! Had to borrow N's...What a scary experience being phone-less!
