York

We have arrived in York despite the best efforts of ASLEF who went on strike against Greater Anglia trains today.  That meant we had to drive to Norwich and leave the car there, but fortunately the journey onwards was by different train companies so we were OK.  We were here so that I could meet up with my old school buddies tomorrow for our annual reunion but unfortunately age and ailments have caught up with a couple of them so they can't make it.  We've agreed to rearrange for the Spring but as W and I had train tickets and hotel booked, we've come anyway.

We got here early afternoon and after checking in to the hotel had a walk into town and a look at a few shops and the Minster.  We'll have a more detailed look tomorrow.

Out for an Italian meal tonight at a place we've not been to before, but which has good reviews.  I was going to add a couple of extras but the wi-fi in the hotel doesn't seem to want to play ball.
