Greylag Geese
Spotted these greylag geese who were very protective of their gosling at the Heritage Loch today.
The greylag goose is the largest of the so-called grey geese and the only one which breeds in Britain. The British birds have pink legs and orange-yellow bill, while the E.European ones have pink bills, so these appear to be British. The common farmyard goose is the domesticated version of the greylag.
Looks good in large mode.
Beautiful sunny and warm day today, and it was lovely to stroll around the loch and have a coffee outside on the balcony of the cafe afterwards.
