Cold and Dreich Park
A low pressure rattles in from the Atlantic to the south. Some places, such as Cumbria, receive the precipitation as snow. Unfortunately the wind blowing off the North Sea is above zero in Edinburgh. Heavy rain in the morning melts most of the snow, but leaves patches of wet ice to negotiate on the lunchtime walk Halfway round, it starts raining again, so I quickly head to the top of the park to get a couple of photos before the heavy rain restarts, which it does for most of the afternoon.
After work I just head around the block as the sun set at 15:41, and most paths I walk on aren't lit. At least most of the snow and ice has gone. The temperature has warmed up to 4degC, but the wind chill makes it feel way below zero. However I prefer the constancy of a winter with a more permanent snow cover to a winter with alternate snow/rain as experienced in Scotland.
