Charity day
As if curling isn't difficult enough, try playing with a (cardboard) wheelie bin on your back. Today's charity theme was 'Go Green' and as always the ladies came up with some spectacular costumes. We had peas in a pod, jolly green giants, green cross code men, trees and various recycling outfits but there was no doubting the winners. The mice climbing the bins was inspired. In the first session every time one of them delivered or swept a stone the lid of the bin hit them on the head. A few pieces of string solved the problem. The charity to benefit from the ladies generosity is Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust. Their drivers offer free hospital transport to patients undergoing cancer treatment and they were excellent when my brother needed them.
I couldn't play earlier but I did play in this evening's inter club match against East Kilbride and Haremyers where we managed to retain the Ross Tankard.
