Ebe's Barn
Today I went in search of another photogenic barn. Whatcom County has lots of barns. They are out in a field or near a home or behind a closed fence and it is impossible to get up close and personal enough to take a meaningful picture.
My first try was a barn right on Drayton Harbor road out here where I live. I was going to ask here if I could take a picture but no one was home. I will go back there.
I went on, not sure where I would go. Finally I ended up back on the Lynden-Birch Bay Road. There are several barns along this road. As I was driving along, I saw a cute little boy out in his driveway, playing ball with his mom and right by me was a nice old barn.
I turned into that driveway, stopped the car and said hello to mom and little boy. The little boy was probably about two and so cute. I really should have taken a picture of them but I thought better of it and asked if I could walk around the barn and take pictures of it. She said fine, but it was not her barn, it was Ebe's barn and her husband worked for them. I said I knew the Ebe's but I did not know it was their barn. I asked about the stack of pipe laying by the barn. She said it was for irrigations of the potato fields and would be getting moved in about a week or two.
Lots of pictures here and good information. The light on the barn, in the late afternoon, was good from one side but way too bright on the other side looking into the sun. As my eyes adjusted to the bright sun, I noticed many white boxes of honey bee hives. I left them alone and was happy with the side of the barn facing the sun.
