Life is like…

Arrived in Birmingham for conference tomorrow. My last one before retirement.
The central area was lively and the stalls looked fun. No-one seemed to be tempted by the helter skelter though. Met colleagues at the restaurant and then headed to the Holiday Inn where I am staying. Looking up trains for tomorrow I am now worried that I may not get home. The strike has effectively wiped out Southern and Southeastern trains so when I get to London my only option seems to be Thameslink to Haywards Heath and even that looks dubious. Tomorrow is going to be a long day but I will leave the conference as early as I can.
