Slightly doctored
Next week is our first proper competition at the Bridport Camera Club and the theme is Landscape. That's a simple theme, you might think, but our club doesn't do conventional and the further instructions include,
"The club prides itself on being a place where creativity will always trump dogma ... so for us, landscape includes, seascape, urban landscape or contemporary landscape which is much more about mans interaction with the land rather than the land itself (think the New Topographics, Robert Adams, Lewis Baltz etc). I expect to see entries that draw influence from Impressionism, and from one person at least, Expressionism. "
So I've been keen to find subjects and treatments that are less conventional. I don't find that easy, so Mrs B helps as she's the ideas person of the team. I've submitted this rather dark monochrome (Main) and this abstract (Extra) in my attempt to meet at least part of that requirement. The mono is called "Lone Scape", and the Extra "Littoral Abstract".
There's a fair amount of talent in the Club which, unfortunately, never misses a competition :-) We'll see . . .
