Stairway to paradise?

I am not a person easily phased but l did seem to do a bit more rushing around than usual yesterday.  This escalator shot seemed to sum up the day, l stood waiting for the escalator to be free and when nearly there this man pushed in front of me and spoiled my view so he's in the shot.  The sides had been decorated with many lights and l thought that for happy shoppers this might be a stairway to paradise.
