Romney huts

Taken outside Norton Fitzwarren/Cross Keys Petrol station - The site of old Arms depo and POW camp - 665 Cross Keys - for Italian soldiers during WWII.

They were invented by Lt Col Edgar Frank Brawn of the Royal Engineers. They superseded  smaller Iris Huts and the initally WWI  designed Nissan huts.
