The “ how does he smell.” joke

I have photographed this statue before. Most recently on 16 January.

It is, I have discovered since then, of the Hound of the Baskervilles.

Something has happened - whether frost or vandalism damage - but it is now missing its upper jaw and nostrils.

He may not smell terrible but it is not a good look.
