The Illuminated Highway
The bitterly cold weather of the last couple of days continued to make its presence felt today. We were up and out early for a run and whilst I had plenty of layers on I'd forgotten to put my running gloves on and I started to lose the feeling at the ends of my fingers so we decided to make it a truncated trot and head back indoors.
After a suitable period of getting warmed back up again we ventured out to get some ingredients for tonight's dinner (a pork and sweet potato casserole) and as we 'just happened' to pass The Fields on the return journey we popped in for a pint.
The afternoon was spent doing some dinner prep and then watching a TV double header of Inside The Tower of London on Channel 5 (I can't believe the Chief Yeoman Warder Pete McGowran is retiring!) and Grand Designs on Channel 4.
By late afternoon I was feeling a bit restless so I decided to go for a local photographic safari to see if I could attempt a 'nighttime" shot.
The title of today's blip may lead you to believe this could be a depiction of a muscle car roaring along the Gulf Coast Highway or Route 66 as it passes a neon lit classic American diner but this is just a Nissan Qashqai (other SUV's are very much available) on an A road passing an illuminated bus stop advertising something called "Gift The Gold One This Christmas" for the National Lottery and a no doubt very nutritious food item called a "Submelt". Sorry to shatter the illusion!
Not sure I quite got the image I wanted but it does at least have a frenetic sense of movement to it and some neonesque colouring whilst also feeling quite woozy! :-)
