Fair Maid of the West

Caught the train to Stratford on Avon to go to the RSC to watch the Fair Maid of the West in the Swan theatre. The Victorian street market was on for a few days and the town was packed. Train full and took ages to walk through the town to meet the friend I was going with. Couldn’t face the market with such a crowd. Loved the play however. Really well done. Funny and topical, a revised version of a restoration comedy. Well worth the trauma of crowds and then a cancelled train on the way home!
