Greenfinch

Thank you very much for the lovely comments, stars and hearts on my waxwing photo yesterday, all are much appreciated.

F and I were walking around the village today when we spotted this male greenfinch eating seeds that it had found on the ground under a tree.  We watched it for a while, we were behind a wall so it didn't see us.  

Some boys arrived and were riding mountain bikes close to the bird and shouting.  The greenfinch went under a patch of ivy and stood still, it obviously didn't want to move from a good food source.  We moved on as we didn't want to alert them to the bird's hiding place.
