Waiting to be decorated?

Another wild and wet day. We were supposed to go birdwatching at Titchfield Haven on the  coast with the RSPB group but we decided it wasn't worth traipsing down there, so caught up on some correspondence. 
We went for  a short local  walk. This rather lovely specimen tree  looks fine without the addition of lights and decorations, I think. I really must take  a closer look and try to identify it. (Possibly a spruce or cypress?)
