Christmas party fun
This is my beautiful sister-in-law Sam dancing at this evening's kitchen disco at our annual Christmas drinks party.
We all had a fabulous time. As is traditional, Jon was our first guest. He arrived just before 6pm. The last was Andy, who left at 2:15am. In total thirty four people joined us, including three other blippers ArcLight, Ridgeback13, and sharon143.
Over the course of eight hours we served drinks to our guests, we worked our way (with everyone else) through the mince pies, crecy pies, mini quiches, cheese puffs, crisps, honey-glazed sausages, and crudités that we prepared earlier in the day, we chatted with our friends, and we danced. Mr hazelh, Jack, David H-S, and Brian also set up a music room in our study for a wee concert. The lead singer in the band was our talented friend Sam.
Once again we were proved right to have removed our precious Singapore rug from the sitting room when (singer) Sam spilt a glass of Champagne on the floor. Jack also kept up his tradition of dropping a glass of red wine when in mid-conversation. This landed on the hall carpet. Luckily Mr hazelh was nearby when this happened, and he soon cleaned up the mess with a scrubbing brush.
Other than preparing for the party and partying, this morning I called in on various neighbours to ask if they might also object to the planning proposal that the man next door has submitted to the Council.
Exercise today: walking and dancing (12,125 steps).
