Black Witches' Butter

A calm dry day today. I found Black Witches' Butter (Exidia glandulosa) in the woods (there's also a blob of white brain fungus on the left). Its handy stuff - when thrown on a fire it counteracts witchcraft (apparently). Perhaps if we'd used some last week we wouldn't have lost our power supply for the past four days. The electrician that came today to sort it out blamed the torrential rain penetrating our ring main. I'm not so sure.
