At home: bonfire brothers...x

The primitive smell of the smoke on bonfire is enough to send my boys into a native frenzy. They will be taking part in a fire ceremony at Glastonbury, next week, so lighting the bonfire at home was like lighting an inner spirit in them.

A fire ceremony is a Native American practice that is usually performed every full moon. You do not have to wait for a full moon in order to do a fire ceremony. Fire Ceremonies are wonderful during a New Moon, when you want to introduce newness into your life. It is truly a very simple and an awe-inspiring event.

Fire is fundamental in Native American prayer because it is part of the earth creation prayer. The fact is it is acknowledged in every religion, although we possibly only appreciate it fully in the depths of winter when the flames glow on your skin.

"The four elements of nature: Earth, Air, Fire and Water are the very foundations of creation and the basis of life itself. Ancient myths and theories, not just Native Americans tell us that four Divine Beings 'Spirits' were sent to the fledgling earth (then a smoldering pot of confusion being created), to bring about order out of chaos. As the rays of their celestial bodies made contact with the crystallized influences of the lower world, they became the four elements linking humankind to nature, the heavens and the Divine. "

My boys are connected to fire, they don't know how. It seems right to them to run around feeding it, and dancing in the smoke. It does seem right. X
