Third morning of the course. Most participants came back and they were all as studious as before. It's a real delight teaching them. Trip to Kreuzberg after work to meet the Blaue Ampel. People were showing their project work which started before the pandemic. One of the Amplers used a generative AI to produce black and white images prompted by descriptions of his nightmares. The resulting images are absolutely fantastic and fantastical. He is thinking a lot about brutalist concrete structures. Apparently he needs to watch his prompts, Microsoft warned him that he is about to be permanently banned. Not sure what triggered the content policy but the new artificial world clearly is an exclusively happy place. Needless to say, his work spawned a long discussion about what is photography, creativity, etc. Stopped in the pub for a drink. Quite like the place, it shoogles when the U Bahn passes underneath.
